I am having problems getting the two above devices to work together
despite having followed the setup instructions.
I now have the modem (ip 192.168.1.1) connected to the 'Internet' port
of the router (ip 192.168.1.2) using a patch cable. Using a laptop
with wireless card I am able to ping the router but not the modem.
Connecting the modem to one of the LAN ports on the router enables me
to ping the modem and access its configuration. This reveals that the
modem is connecting successfully to my ISP and obtaining an IP
address.
As it is I have wireless network connectivity but no Internet access,
whether connecting the modem to the 'Internet' or a LAN port on the
router and whether using a patch or corssover cable.
Any ideas please.

One of the useful things you can do with two routers is set them up in wireless repeating, or bridging, mode. In this mode, the routers work together to strengthen your business's wireless network and increase its radius. One router is connected directly to the Internet source, such as a modem, and acts as the network base, while the second router is connected to the first router. You can set up bridge mode even if the routers are made by different companies, such as Netgear and Linksys.

1.

Connect each router to a power source, and connect the Netgear router to the modem with an Ethernet cable. Use another Ethernet cable to temporarily connect the router to a computer.

2.

Open a Web browser on the connected computer and type '192.168.1.1' (without the quotation marks) into the address bar. Press 'Enter,' then type in the router's username and password to open the configuration menu.

3.

Open the 'Wireless settings' category and set the network name (SSID), channel, transmission mode, security setting (must be 'WEP' or no security) and security key. Take note of the settings you use here as you must duplicate them in the Linksys router's settings.

4.

Click on the 'Wireless Repeating Function' link in the Advanced section of the configuration menu. Check the 'Enable Wireless Repeating Function' check box and select the 'Wireless Base Station' option.

5.

Look on the bottom of the Linksys router for a long string of characters labeled 'MAC Address,' which should look similar to this: '1E-43-7Y-8U-32-J9.' Type the Linksys router's MAC address in the 'Repeater MAC Address 1' field and click the 'Apply' button. Click 'Log Out' and close the Web browser or browser tab.

6.

Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer and plug it into the Linksys router. Use another Ethernet cable to connect the Linksys router to the computer. Both of these physical connections are temporary.

7.

Open a Web browser on the connected computer and type in '192.168.1.1' again. When prompted, type in the Linksys router username and password to open its configuration menu. Go into the 'Wireless' menu and set the wireless network settings exactly as you have it in the Netgear router.

8.

Click the 'Connectivity' button in the Router Settings section and open the 'Internet Settings' tab. Select the 'IPv4' option, choose 'Bridge Mode' from the 'Type of Internet Connection' drop-down menu, then click the 'Obtain an IPv4 address automatically' link. Click 'OK' to save your settings.

9.

Disconnect both Ethernet cables -- between the computer and the Linksys router, and between the routers -- and reposition the Linksys router to your desired location. You no longer need these Ethernet cables, as the routers will connect to each other in bridge mode wirelessly.

Tip

  • If you prefer, you can use the Linksys router as the base station instead. To do so, connect the Linksys router to the modem instead of the Netgear. Once you connect the Netgear router to the Linksys router, select the 'Wireless Repeating' mode in the Netgear settings instead of the 'Wireless Base Station' mode.

Oct 15, 2013  I am looking for a circuit diagram for a high power ultrasonic amplifier. Needs to drive an underwater transducer rated at 50 watts. Currently using a single HexFet driving a 1:25 toroid to 1000vpp, but I need to increase the duty cycle past 1% for more output power. Ultrasonic amplifier is a lab equipment that amplifies voltage signal at high frequencies. Unlike audio frequencies which are between 20Hz and 20kHz, ultrasonic-frequency are greater than 20kHz and into the hundreds kilo-Hertz and even MHz.Common ultrasonic amplifier applications are piezo transducer and sensor.
